The aspirant for the Imo State House of Assembly seat for the Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituency under the umbrella of the National Democratic Congress,NDC , Hon Bekee Chinenyeze Emmanuel has revealed the reason behind his present political ambition.
Speaking to journalists in Owerri after being screened by his party officials, Hon Bekee noted that his intention to run for the state legislative seat was borne out of his zeal to continue in the service to God and humanity which he had been involved in business for a long time. Maintaining that it has been in his character to bring the said zeal to light, the United Kingdom-based business man revealed that although he resides at the UK, he was always at home with his people, describing himself as a man of the grassroots. He revealed that it was his people’s long expectation in addition to his own to be a voice in government for them and bring home the dividends of democracy that made him to join the race. Speaking further, Hon Bekee revealed that it stemmed from his desire to improve on what he has been doing for his people, but to now channel such sevice from the government angle. As he drove his points home said, “I am not new, I was borne and brought up here, grew up here, studied here, worked here as an administrator at the Federal Politechnic, Nekede before I travelled overseas for the greener pastures, but being abroad has never affected me as an individual.” He insisted that he was not a foreign politician as he pointed out that what his people tell him aways is,” Go and get the ticket and we will support you”. Assessing the performance of his party’s screening panel, he opined that the exercise was carried out with transparency, due process, orderly and qualitative with a view to an aspirant’s charisma and credibility to the party and his people.
